Weekly Haiku Challenge #43: Source and thought

This week’s challenge from Ronovan involved the words source and prompt. Here’s my attempt at the haiku :

Wrecked heart cannot cope,

with shattered thoughts and crushed soul,

need a source of hope.

How the Haiku is read:

Wrecked heart cannot cope with shattered thoughts and crushed soul.

With shattered thoughts and crushed soul, need a source of hope.

I’ll admit its a bit on the darker side – trying to balance out the lighter ones that I posted last week .

Haiku Challenge #41 : Need and tatter

This week’s haiku challenge from Ronovan is a very interesting combination indeed! The prompt words include’ tatter’ and ‘need’ which form a very interesting combination and I’ve managed two attempts.

The gluttonous need,

driving my mind to tatters,

the urgent need to poo.

‘Twas not her need but,

the ravenous worldly greed,

drove him to tatters.

Mystery box

With the midnight tick of the clocks,

there appeared a box,

A bolt of light mocks,

and rippling waves shocks;

Wrapped in a sparkle and white,

bound by ribbons bright;

As she approached bewitched,

a calligraphed tag twitched;

handwritten words with care,

“Open me, if you dare.”

Her heart beat rising,

the lump in her throat sizing;

The touch of a shivering hand,

ripped wrapping lay on the sand;

The jolt of inquisitiveness,

led to an act of foolishness;

With the boom of a big bang,

history was rewritten from yin to yang

The world of the fighting brave,

snapped into a living grave

In the flash of a dropping hat,

Alas, curiosity killed the cat.

Let them be

The universes expand,

the sun rays span,

for life to sustain,

You let them be.

For the rivers to flow,

the clouds billow,

when the winds blow,

You let them be.

For the colours of a peacocks plume,

the vivid flowers bloom,

air vibrant with their perfume,

You let them be.

For the world to grow,

 happiness to glow,

stop judging others now,

do no let your close minded thoughts sow,

Let your children be.
